Dog of the Week - February 10, 2017

Dog of the Week - February 10, 2017

Last week I did not post a dog of the week article as part of my series as there were 15 dogs on what is called the PUSH list at the Fort Bend County Animal Services shelter in Rosenberg TX. These dogs needed to be rescued, or  fostered or adopted and if this not did occur they would have been euthanized. I did publish a post about the original 15 pups as it was important to get these dogs out of the shelter alive. The greater the audience for these types of communication the greater the odds of adoption increase. I am happy to report all 15 were saved with the last one rescued at the end of the day and end of her time late yesterday. Big shout out to all who helped with saving these pups.

I have posted 3 other articles concerning dogs of the week being 12 /11/2016 ;12/22/2016 ; 1/13/2017 and 1/22/2017. I am very pleased to tell all  these pups have been adopted. The 1/13/2017 dog was adopted last weekend. I was actually walking and playing with her when her new parents came to view her. They drove all the from Navasota TX to Rosenberg TX which is about 79 miles one way trip to view her and then adopt her. I was ecstatic when they immediately wanted to adopt her after I told them she is a great dog! These folks saw her picture on the internet.. They were not sure which site.

This week my dog of the week in advance of the weekend

( biggest viewing day is usually Saturday) is a female lab mix and she is brown and white in color. She is about 2 years old and has been in the shelter since 1/9/2017. Her ID # is A009927. I think she is an attractive pup.

I have taken her on more than one occasion for walks, playing, hugging and enjoying each other. She is such a sweetheart. She like to play with toys, gives lots of dog kisses, is so excited to see people, loves to be loved on by a human, has not shown any issues with other dogs and I can not believe a pup like her is in the shelter in the first place let alone still there. She is not a large dog but she is bigger than our small chihuahua ( 16 LBS) with the long legs for a chihuahua to give you a perspective of her size. If I could I would adopt her. She needs a loving and caring home. I believe you will not be sorry if you adopt her.

Here are a few pictures of her. If anyone who reads this has any questions about her, the shelter or other available dogs contact me and I will assist you.

She is so cute. I'm sure someone will adopt her. She looks part pitbull to me...I get this from her head.

I must say that you deserve a big virtual high five for your pet of the week posts. Keep them coming.

Last night I went and saw the movie...A Dog's Purpose. It's a real tear jerker. Both my friend, Joyce, and I cried. It's well worth seeing.

I have been very busy. I just went under contract on a house I'm buying for myself, so that has had me distracted. It's a real fixer, but I plan to live there for a few years and hopefully get the work done. I have to start with the roof. We will close this one in late March. There's a tenant in there and I wanted to give her plenty of time to move out. So that's my big news.

That little charmer deserves a good home. Our last three dogs have been adopted from puppy mill raids or before going to shelters.
