Home Buyers : Internet Use vs. In Person

Don’t believe everything you see or read on the internet. You’ve heard that one before I am sure. It’s great to start out by conducting research if you’re interested in buying a home, but I strongly advise you to be conscientious of the websites you use to do your browsing. As an Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) and professional Realtor, I can steer you in the right direction and better explain the online property portal process.

See the linked article shown below as it explains online web portals. I can design a custom home search which taps into HAR MLS data. This search will put all homes matching your criteria into your own web page and this can be accessed any time you want.

I look forward to working with you and hearing from you!

I often have buyers send me homes that look amazing to them.

I send them back a street view of the neighborhood and share: drive by first, then fall in love. Photography and Internet info sometimes doesn't hold up when actually in the home. Do you get any trackable value out of being an ABR?

Thomas J. Nelson, Realtor, CRS - Trackable value from ABR... NO.. It becomes more of an information source than one for obtaining potential customers. Thanks for your comment

All the resources Realtors® have are merely tools to aid us in the sale. Many times buyers and sellers base some or all of their info on websites that do not provide accurate information Robert Bob Gilbert

Bob

That this point there is still a real life real estate professional involved in the real estate transaction.

Good luck and success.

Bob, I had talked to prospective sellers today. They told that they had their home listed with a broker, and the agent never went over ANYTHING with them. I just had to shake my head.

Great point Bob. No matter how automated the world gets nothing will replace the human touch.

I love the article. I have not linked to any ABR articles yet. Thanks for the inspiration.

Good morning Bob.  There is still no substitute for that personal view of a home.  Pictures don't tell the whole story.

I am sure that when people meet you in person, they know right away that they made a good choice!

This is very  good advice to share with prospective home buyers.

Bob, I hear it a lot from buyers - love the home, and then when they actually see it, they also see what is around the home, and that does affect their decisions!

Hi Bob, I think that is smart writing about the importance of getting face to face. Hope you are having a good week.

Bob great advice to potential buyers the Z, T & R.coms on this world do not know the neighborhoods, you still need a local Realtor to show you around, Endre

This is great advice to buyers, and sellers, too. I don't know how many buyers I've worked with that find a home on z or t only to find out it's not on the market. I've seen these sites even have the wrong picture for a home.

Great advice. Nothing beats knowledge of the community and knowledge of the neighborhoods and subdivisions.
