Almost Wordless Wednesday - National Dog Day August 26, 2016

Friday August 26, 2016 is National Dog Day and I wanted to reach out to everyone a little early. I think this is a great time to go to a local shelter and make some poor homeless pup a very happy dog and adopt him or her! Way too many dogs are left to die on the street or in shelters or be horribly abused. It hurts my heart as these poor dogs cannot control their own destiny but you do! An adopted dog will be extremely loyal and loving to you for the rest of their life.

If you want to adopt a dog in the Katy or surrounding areas and do not know what to do and or where to go contact me at 281-904-6772 or bobgilbert2003@msn.com and I will hook you up.

The above pictures are of our small dog who is a rescue dog. She is fiercely loyal and loving pup..

Below is some information on this Day I found and edited from their web site:

National Dog Day celebrates all types of dogs including  mixed breed and purebred. The mission/ goal is to help attract public attention and to recognize the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year and acknowledges family dogs and dogs that work selflessly each day to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort. Numerous Dogs put their lives on the line every day in so many different venues.

If you adopt a dog please let me know.. I guess this really was not a Wordless Post!! ::)))

Bob,

My old partner Eddie saved a couple of pups around my new area! I hope you had a great day and are on your way home as we are having guests!

Bob, you walk the talk with your adoption of Duchess, and she is a great example of the love and loyalty that shelter dogs provide to their new owners!

That is the way to do it. I am glad that one more dog has a safe and happy home.

There is so much love to be acquired at a shelter. . .I don't dare go there because I have no will-power, and my two felines would divorce me!

Thanks for reminding us that National Dog Day is August 26th. Dogs are just so lovable. This is a great post, Bob.

I hope a whole bunch of dogs and cats found new forever homes today. I didn't know it was National Dog Day. I'm glad Lucky didn't know this, because he would be expecting something extra, and today that wouldn't have happened. (I was a bit busy).

Love the new profile picture.

Thank you everyone and the dogs thanks you. Right now the Fort Bend County Dog Shelter is full and they broadcast on Facebook they need 50 dogs to be adopted by Saturday! I hope the 50 dogs get adopted as I hate to think of what might happen.

Hi Robert Bob Gilbert , You're right there are too many dogs, as well as cats that are abused. I hope many of those dogs are joined with some loving families.
